Yeah, everything resonates, ergo can be improved in some way or other via 'critical' damping. I had to learn all about this stuff when tasked to be part of a design team for some commercial and military shipboard electrical distribution gear and later expanded to seismic rating of similar gear at several retrofit and new nuclear power plants. Yes, fun stuff to discover, but talk about 'sweating bullets' during the test phase! Lot of $$$, careers at stake!
If you get a chance, compare your XO to an old Altec or similar potted one. Potting does a good job of damping electronics.
Speaking of bypass caps, does anybody still use small resistors to damp caps like in the old days and still do in industrial apps?
